Tenon plug cutters

A tenon plug cutter is a special drill that is used to produce wooden plugs or pins (so-called wooden pins), which are used to fill holes created by a Forstner bit or to cover screws and bolts in wooden structures. This tool is often used in carpentry, cabinetmaking and in the repair of wooden surfaces where it is necessary to cover unsightly holes and preserve the aesthetics of the wood.

Characteristics:
Shape: The drill bit is designed to carve cylindrical or conical plugs from wood. It usually has sharp edges around the perimeter and often a hollow center to make the plug pin easy to separate.
Sizes: Available in a variety of diameters to match the size of the holes drilled by the Forstner bit.
Application: After drilling a hole with a Forstner bit, a plug pin is made from a corresponding piece of wood using a plug, which is then glued into the hole.

Work process:
1. Using a Forstner bit: Creating a clean and precise hole in wood, for example where there is a knotted defect.
2. Using a plug: Cutting a wooden plug from a piece of the same or similar wood to maintain a uniform appearance.
3. Insertion and gluing: The plug is inserted into the hole, glued and the surface is aligned (sanded) with the surrounding wood.

In this way, both a functional and an aesthetic result can be achieved when repairing or finishing work on wooden products.

NÁSTROJE CZ tenon plug cutters have a polished inner and outer edge and are made of hardened high-carbon steel. They are intended for drilling into soft and hard natural wood. Available from diameter 8 mm to diameter 60 mm.
