          How to use a die?

          How to use a die?
Now when we know how to choose a die, we can familiarize ourselves with the possibilities of its appropriate use.

Clamp the die into a suitable tool and secure it properly. Whether we are repairing a thread or cutting a new one, it is not a good idea to rush. Clean the thread from dirt before repairing (passing through) so that the cutting edges are not dulled by their influence. If we want to make a new thread, we make sure that we have the shank prepared in the correct diameter for the selected thread size (see the table below) and that we also have the pitch ready. Cut the thread slowly and with deliberation. It is important to correctly guide the circular die in the axis of the shank so that the cut thread does not deviate to the side. This could then lead to overloading or even destruction of the jaw cutting edges. When repairing existing threads, make sure that the die does not run "over the thread" and thus deviate the cut profile. If you are not cutting into a material with a friable chip, it is possible to achieve chip breaking by occasionally turning back while cutting. There are also variants of dies with a ground chip breaker on the cutting edges. To prolong the sharpness of the cutting edges, it is recommended to use suitable lubricating pastes or oils. If you follow these recommendations when threading, you will certainly be satisfied with the result.
