How many cutting edges does a drill have?

How many cutting edges does a drill have?
This is a fairly common question for many of us. We can usually find drills that have 2 cutting edges. This is the standard.
But a drill with one, three or four cutting edges is no exception. Concrete drills offer us these, for example.
The double-edged drill itself (the tool for "cutting" a hole) does not have a precise circular shape. The drilled hole is more of a polygon, which has one angle more than the tool itself.
So if you use a double-edged drill for metal, the drilled hole will be triangular in shape.
This increases with each additional cutting edge. A three-edged drill drills a quadrangular hole... and so on.
This is one of the reasons why the material being drilled is removed during rotation and "biting" of the cutting edges, with their cutting edges determining the angle of inclination of the helix, the angle of the ridge and the apex angle. But now we come to the geometry of the drill.
