What is the difference in Seger pliers?

What is the difference in Seger pliers?
These pliers are also known as circlip pliers.

The pliers are used to install and remove circlips that secure pins against axial movement. Circlips are metal rings and are made of a flexible material, which allows them to be easily installed and removed using circlip pliers. They are used to fasten or secure components on shafts or in bearings to prevent them from shifting or slipping out of the desired position.
The pliers have round jaws, but unlike round jaw pliers, they have a narrowed end of the jaws with a chamfered edge, against which the circlip stops and does not slip to the handles.

Circlip pliers differ from each other in one small way. In which direction their jaws diverge - whether towards each other or away from each other. This adapts them to the gripping holes in the circlips. These are further apart on the inner ones than on the outer ones. We have 2 types of pliers.

          FOR OUTER RINGS
          - we increase the diameter, for placement on the shaft
          - they always have closed jaws

          FOR INNER RINGS
          - we reduce the diameter of the ring, for insertion into the hole
          - they have open jaws and close by pressing the handle
          - this is how bearings are secured

Retaining (seger) ring for the shaft (left) and for the hole (right):

There are different jaws for seger pliers. The jaws can be straight, curved, which require access from the side, fixed, which are designed for 1 type of rings, or interchangeable, where we can choose which type of jaws we need.

Retaining ring pliers are used especially where it is necessary to secure components on shafts or in bearing systems, for example in the automotive industry and mechanical engineering.
