How to identity a concrete drill bit

How to identity a concrete drill bit
Drill bits intended for drilling into masonry and concrete are usually made of alloyed tool steel. However, this is not enough for the correct drilling result.
That is why these drill bits have carbide blades soldered to the tip. These are plates made of cemented carbide / hard metal.
The original designation for the first cemented carbide was WIDIA (KRUPP brand). That is why these drill bits are sometimes called "vidia".
Concrete drill bits can be used to drill holes into hard concrete mixtures, panels and masonry, or into aerated concrete.
Concrete and masonry drill bits (building materials) are available with various clamping shanks. Cylindrical, SDS-plus and SDS-Max.
SDS-plus drill bits are usually used for drills up to a diameter of 30mm. The SDS-Max chuck (shank diameter 18mm) is already designed for larger drills and is used for more complex drilling using heavy drills/hammers.
